Quality
There is a great deal of attention focused on the thermal insulation industry; the power supply crisis has brought various energy-saving products and techniques into the spotlight. This was been reinforced and highlighted by ESKOM projects and government's support via the finalisation of SANS 204, changes to legislation governing the design and specifications of buildings in terms of energy-saving efficiencies.
Safety ISOTHERM Thermal Insulation was developed in 1998 and its derivative products ISOFOIL and ACOUSTISORB followed soon thereafter. It is one of the safest and most effective products on the market. Made from 100% polyester fibre derived from recycled PET (plastic) bottles it is completely safe - no protective clothing is required when handling. Its safety in the event of fire has been tested up to temperatures of 750 degrees and it has been proven to not promulgate or aid the spread of fire; a qualitative standard recognised by the Timber Frame Builders Association through its affiliation with ISOTHERM. Certification To make an educated decision on which thermal insulation product is best, recognised standards of quality such as the South African Bureau of Standards (SABS) and proof of qualitative associations with associations such as TIASA, the Thermal Insulation Association of Southern Africa are imperative. ISOTHERM is also Agrément certified, an international standard of the highest quality and has earned ISO 9001 accreditation. The thermal insulation performance of ISOTHERM has been tested by SABS and Agrément and recently ISOTHERM celebrated the highest possible accolade in terms of its energy-saving effectiveness when it was nominated as the supplier to ESKOM's geyser blanket manufacturer in the 2006 DSM project in the Western Cape.
