Recycling in South Africa

According to the South African Plastic Recycling Organisation (Sapro), the national increase in recycling has led to job creation and economic growth. That’s great news and all the more reason to recycle!  To help get you started, here’s a list of recycling drop-off points in South Africa…

Where to drop-off recycling in South Africa

Nationwide Recycling Drop-off Points:

Pick ‘n Pay – Easy and convenient, now you can drop-off your recycling every time you shop! Deposit old batteries, light bulbs (incandescent and florescent), ink cartridges and plastic in the dedicated recycling containers which you can find at the entrance of any Pick ‘n Pay store.

Cape Town Recycling Drop-off Points:

  • Recycle almost anything, from plastic to motor oil, here.
  • Recycle plastic here.
  • Engen Service Stations – Deposit glass, paper, tins and plastic in the dedicated recycling bins inside Woolworths Foodstopsat  the following service stations :
