Green cleaning with vinegar

There’s nothing quite like scent of a clean home. It’s the fragrance of a field of flowers (synthetic of course) and toxic chemicals!

Although it sounds crazy, many common household cleaning products contain highly toxic chemicals including benzene, toluene, xylene, methanol, ethybenzene, chlorine, ammonia, and formaldehyde. These chemicals exacerbate respiratory problems and allergies, attack the central nervous system and have even been linked to cancer! Thanks to these toxic cleaning products, indoor air is two to five times more polluted than the air outside, according to a study by the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency.

Fortunately there are an increasing number of eco-friendly and non-toxic green cleaning products on the market. However, you could save money by simply opening you kitchen cupboard and reaching for vinegar! Vinegar is a natural disinfectant and deodoriser. It’s also an economical multi-purpose eco-friendly cleaning product.

Susan Doherty of Six Minute Style explains a how you could use white vinegar as an eco-friendly cleaning product in the video below. Press play and get ready to take green cleaning notes…
